TMJ Therapy
Do you live with neck pain, ringing in the ears, headaches, jaw clicking, or other uncomfortable symptoms? You may be one of the approximately 40-million Americans suffering from TMJ dysfunction. With TMJ disorder, the temporomandibular joints, the small triangular joints that join the lower jaw and the skull, become misaligned. The malfunctioning of the TMJ causes strain on your muscles and irritation of the associated nerves.
We want to relieve your pain and give you a healthy, comfortable smile. Dr. Fleming will evaluate your whole mouth so she can determine the cause of TMJ. She will then suggest appropriate non-surgical therapy, which may include exercises to strengthen your jaw muscles, hot and cold compresses, or an oral appliance such as an NTI-tss to prevent nighttime teeth grinding. The NTI tension suppression, a small, custom appliance, reduces the stress caused by jaw clenching, allowing the face muscles to relax, as well as alleviating headaches and other painful jaw problems.
Invest in yourself. Call our dental office and schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Fleming to discuss the benefits of TMJ therapy. Our Phoenix practice serves patients from Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree, and the surrounding areas.
